Injury Rehab Coaching at The Obstacle Gym

At The Obstacle Gym, we don’t just train bodies—we help them recover, rebuild, and come back stronger. My injury rehab coaching is designed for anyone who wants to move better, regain strength, and prevent future injuries. Using evidence-based programming and structured training, we focus on functional improvements that actually last.


I’m an exercise physiologist and personal trainer with over 10 years of experience, specialising in helping people stop annoying their future selves. My sessions are tailored, progress is measurable, and expectations are clear. No guesswork, no fads—just smart, purposeful training that works.

My Approach

I combine science, structure, and a no-nonsense coaching style:

  • Evidence-Based: I use proven methods to improve strength, movement, and long-term function.
  • Measured Progress: Every session has a purpose, every improvement is tracked, and every goal is achievable.
  • Safe & Structured: Exercises are designed to challenge you without risking further injury.
  • Tough but Fair: I set high standards, value technique, and push clients beyond what they think is possible—all while keeping sessions mostly enjoyable.

I come armed with a clipboard, a stopwatch, and an unshakable belief that “just one more rep” is always achievable. I can spot poor technique across the room, speak fluent biomechanics, and I’ve never been impressed by an exercise that “just feels right.”

Why I Do This

I’ve been there myself. Years of functional fitness, distance swimming, and obstacle course racing taught me:

  • How to suffer efficiently
  • How to fall gracefully
  • How ignoring mobility work eventually leads to injuries

I’ve competed, trained, and yes—picked up a few injuries along the way. After my own experiences with NHS staff, surgeons, and physical therapists, I gained a renewed respect for recovery and prevention. I rebuilt my body using smarter programming, stronger movement patterns, and a healthy dose of humility—securing my comeback to competition and a sustainable approach to fitness.

I compete, coach, and train in obstacle course racing and functional fitness, which basically means I’ve spent the past decade doing hard things on purpose. I know what it’s like to push limits, hit walls (literally), and come back stronger. I’m proof that listening to your body works…eventually.
